The Picture of Dorian Gray
By Oscar Wilde
A New Version by Holland & O’Connor
“You have a wonderfully beautiful face, Dorian. And beauty is a form of genius – is higher, indeed that Genius, as it needs no explanation”.
When Dorian meets fellow boarders Basil & Henry at the prestigious Eton College, he swiftly enters the world of power, influence, drugs and wealth which begins his decline into the callous, self-serving man that he will become.
Set against a modern backdrop of public schooling, but with a nod towards the decadence and hedonism of Victorian London, this adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s seminal text illustrates how relevant the themes of the book still are today. Wilde’s stunning language and our habit of reworking and modernizing classic work shows Dorian Gray as you have never seen him before.
